Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, which begins in childhood and can persist into adulthood. It is characterised by difficulties with attention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity. Difficulties with planning, organisation, and emotional regulation are common. Our ADHD assessments can determine whether or not someone has a diagnosis of ADHD. We also provide detailed recommendations which can be used to form an individual support plan.
At Calvert and Associates Psychology, Dr Fiona Calvert provides comprehensive psychometric assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr Calvert uses evidence-based testing processes, in alignment with the AADPA National Guidelines for the diagnosis of ADHD. Her assessment process includes diagnostic interviewing, test administration and interpretation, report preparation, and a feedback session. A comprehensive report is prepared after the assessment, which provides information on diagnosis, the individual’s strengths and problem areas, and recommendations about strategies and supports that may be of help.
Each ADHD assessment at our practice is individualised for the unique needs of the person or family. Aside from evidence-based diagnostic assessments for ADHD, we may also recommend assessment for other difficulties that are often differential or comorbid with ADHD and make up the full clinical picture (e.g., anxiety, depression, specific learning disorder). The first step is an initial appointment (90 minutes), where Dr Calvert will collect relevant historical information and provide you with a preliminary plan for the comprehensive assessment.
